Email [email protected]: one person reads every message. It helps to include your phone model and the app version (Household → Settings).

Moving to a new phone (iPhone, iPad or Android)

  1. On your old phone, update the app, open Household and tap Share this budget. This saves your budget to your email.
  2. On the new phone or tablet, open the app, tap I already use Simple Budget Planner → I saved my budget to an email, and sign in.

This works between iPhone and Android too. Premium stays with the store you bought it from: the App Store or Google Play.

Sharing with a partner

In Household, tap Share this budget and send the link. Your partner taps it and joins. If the link doesn’t open the app (or they have an older version), they open the app, tap I have a code in Household and type the code. iPhones and Android phones can share the same budget.

Codes are case-sensitive. If one doesn’t work, send it again from Household → Invite someone else. A partner who leaves gets back the entries they had before joining.

Restoring Premium

Tap Restore purchases on the Premium screen or in Household → Settings.

iPhone and iPad: be signed in to the same Apple Account you subscribed with. Family Sharing members get Premium on their own iPhones automatically.

Android: be signed in to Google Play with the same Google account you subscribed with.

Cancelling Premium

iPhone and iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Simple Budget Planner.

Android: Google Play → your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Simple Budget Planner. Or tap Manage subscription in Household → Settings.

Nothing you entered is deleted when Premium ends.

Changing your budget period

Household → Settings → Budget period (or on Home, tap the period name at the top, then Change budget period…). Choose monthly from your payday, twice a month (1st and 15th), every week, every 2 weeks or every 4 weeks. Your entries regroup instantly; nothing is changed.

When bills are added

Bills count toward your budget from the start of the period, so “left to spend” is honest. The entry itself is added on the day you pick when you add or edit the bill (Plan → Bills → the bill → Day). Bills made before you could pick a day are added daily, every Sunday (weekly), on the 1st and 15th (twice a month), or on the 1st (monthly).

Adding the widget

iPhone and iPad: touch and hold your Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap Edit → Add Widget, and search for Budget Planner. A single widget can also hide its amount: touch and hold it, then Edit Widget.

Android: touch and hold an empty space on your Home Screen, tap Widgets, find Budget Planner, then touch and hold the widget to place it.

It shows what’s left this period, the same number as Home. To hide the amounts, or hide them only while your phone is locked: Household → Settings → Widget. If it says “New period”, open the app once and it catches up.

Exporting your data

Household → Export creates a CSV of this period, the last 12 months or everything. It opens in Excel, Numbers and Google Sheets.

Deleting your account

Household → Settings → Delete account deletes your account and every entry, category, goal and bill, on every phone. If your budget is shared, stop sharing (or leave) first. You can export a copy before you delete.

“Couldn’t load your budget”

Your entries are safe. Check your connection and tap Try again. If it keeps happening, tap Copy details and email them to us.
